After reading my recent blog honoring my son’s birthday – he sent me a very heartfelt email. He actually shared with me a very personal situation he’s going through and wanted my insight.\u00a0 You’ll recall that we were always pretty close.<\/p>\n
Without divulging anything too personal, suffice it to say it was all about the challenge he’s having with someone who truly is not emotionally available.\u00a0\u00a0 Naturally, I had some very sage advice for him.\u00a0 Perhaps I should take my own advice right now.<\/p>\n
Trying to engage someone who is so out of touch with their own feelings – especially when they have so much they are dealing with emotionally – requires patience, understanding and compassion.\u00a0 But when that person is not very nice in response to my trying to reach out – it feels awful.<\/p>\n
Perhaps I’m trying too hard and should just let it go.\u00a0 If he wants me in his life, he knows how to reach me.<\/p>\n
