Free Press, Integrity of A Documentary Film Maker and the US Government

Posted on October 3, 2012 by shawnnaOctober 3, 2012

I want you to listen to this National Public Radio (“NPR”) interview of a documentary film maker with this in mind……..

The purpose of a free press is to keep governments in check.

Think about that as you listen to what this incredible and brave young woman is going through to get her documentary out.

If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention. PAY ATTENTION!

Posted on September 25, 2012 by shawnnaSeptember 29, 2012

If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention.

You’re government is owned by the financial industry – both democrats and republicans.

I know most are probably sick of hearing me say this – quite frankly – I don’t care. If you have grandchildren – you need to understand what has happened to the country they are going to inherit if we don’t change it!!! I wanted so much more for my own sons – I will never stop saying this.

PAY ATTENTION!!!!!

Take an hour out of your life and watch this C-Span interview of Neil Barofsky embedded below. Then take a few days and read his book Bailout.

And here’s another podcast for your listening pleasure.

Catalyst

Posted on September 9, 2012 by shawnnaSeptember 9, 2012

In the Law of One, challenges are referred to as ‘catalyst’.

Well…. I’m pretty damn tired of catalyst.

Honestly, I think it’s some sort of karma.

Freezer side of my refrigerator quit and now I’m faced with fixing that. Can’t afford to bring in a repair man so it’s up to me.

While these guys have helped me a lot, I would so love to just be able to call someone to come out and fix things.

Ok – I’m done whining now.

Off to a hot bath and bed. Work tomorrow

Happy Birthday Kevin! (my brother)

Posted on August 9, 2012 by shawnnaAugust 9, 2017

Today would have been Kevin’s 62nd birthday. I want to somehow honor him so I’m going to share these pics of him as a young boy again. He loved animals. My dad taught him how to be patient and get a blue bird to eat out of his hand.

Here he is, patiently waiting.

And here he is with his blue bird friend!

I love and miss you so much Kevin! You’re in my heart, always!

Backyard waterfall redo 2012!

Posted on July 13, 2012 by shawnnaApril 27, 2013

I’m so totally at peace in my own backyard. And that is such a blessing.

Here’s a link to a short movie of my waterfall after I refurbished it this spring.

WaterfallRebuild2012

I have to rebuild the fence around my yard and plant some new plants on the right side of it but it’s so peaceful sitting on my deck with the waterfall in the background.

Posted on June 17, 2012 by shawnnaJune 17, 2012

What a wonderful way to spend Memorial weekend – with my beloved friends, Patricia and Claudia!

Claudia and I drove to Pat’s lovely home in Redmond, OR (near Bend). We had such a lovely, long weekend together!

Lots of exploring and we even celebrated Pentecost!

Here are a few pictures I took.

An amazing story by a man who was his parents ‘death panel’. Of significant importance is the extremely good information on one of the best health care systems in the US – Geisinger.

Posted on May 13, 2012 by shawnnaMay 13, 2012

My greatest accomplishment in life has been to nurture two beautiful Souls without doing too much damage (hopefully!). Matt and Ryan are my legacy and I feel humbled and blessed on this incredibly beautiful 2012 Mother’s Day. Thank you for the beautiful roses and the incredibly generous gifts Matt, and Ryan. I love you both more than words can express!
