Our Brett has returned! I've been so worried about him. Apparently he lost our phone numbers when he lost his cell phone and then he moved to Henderson, Nevada to live with his Dad and brother.

He was in Austin, Texas visiting his mom recently and was able to find Mark's number which is how he came back to us!

He's so grown up now….. I remember when he and Ryan were just 3 years old and riding their Big Wheels around the neighborhood. The boys have grown up now and are all wonderful young men! I'm so very proud of all of them!

I made Brett promise never to disappear like that again! Nothing he ever does could make us love him any less! We all make bad choices in life and he's done a remarkable job coming through his.

It is so hard on kids when a parent leaves. If only parents realized how important it is to be totally involved in their children's lives. Too often adults make very selfish decisions and their children suffer the consequences. Both Brett and Colby (his younger brother) have suffered because of decisions made by their mom. I can totally relate. Brett is really trying very hard to get his act together and with his help, I'm sure Colby will come through OK too.

My prayers are with Doug (their Dad) who has taken responsibility for both of them. He's obviously a stand-up guy – I admire him for sticking with his sons – when they need him the most.

Finally some very positive news in an otherwise not-so-positive few weeks. Yes – I'm happy and grateful to have Brett back in the family again!
