Surgery update
The 2006 motorcycle accident damaged my hands – particularly my right hand. At the time, the hand specialist didn’t feel surgery was nesessary but said if I had problems, we may need to reevaluate. Of course this past summer’s deck building and teak furniture refinishing project didn’t help.
A small cyst emerged on the underside of my wrist and was putting pressure on the hand nerves. All of this combined resulted in hand surgery last Thursday (January 24, 2008). The surgeon is one of the best in Seattle – he did a pantrapezial arthroscopy using a tendon segment from my arm, removed the cysts and scraped a bone fragment from my little finger base area. Splint is on right now and am trying to avoid the pain meds (they make me groggy). Stitches come out in 10 days and than a cast for 5 weeks.
I had planned to go back to work tomorrow but think I need one more day……..
Keep the candles lit and prayers coming please.
