Modern medicine is founded on the profit principle. The motivation to make more and more money has become more important than the health of the patient which ultimately means the health of our society.

It most definitely isn’t about health. The sicker you are, the more money the doctors and hospitals get – regardless of whether or not you have insurance. They are going to get their money – one way or another.

Modern medicine is not about how effective it is, but about how much profit it brings.

The fundamental principle at the heart of insurance is that all will pool their resources so that those who need it, have access to it. Unfortunately that foundation has been crushed by capitalism run amok.
